I’ve found some time in my busy summer semester to post food from my vacation to Japan, in May.
There’s a lot of food I ate, and now miss, but it’s some good reminiscing.
Here’s a sample, but check out the rest inside!

The preview picture was from my day trip to Nara. A fancy, yet affordable (I was surprised there was only one other customer there) place to eat. It was probably the best dish I had the whole trip, Katsu kare Omuraisu. An omelette with rice inside, topped with breaded pork and curry. Simply delicious, and only $8.

Couldn’t resist taking a picture of a KFC sign. Didn’t eat there, but friends tell me the breading is different from its American counterpart.

Katsu Kare (Breaded pork and curry) with rice. I bought this from the local supermarket for cheap. How? – late night discounts. An hour or two before they close, they start slashing prices on food made for the day. Starts off at 30% off, then gets to 50% off the closer to closing time. No matter that it came from a supermarket, it still had restaurant quality and taste.

Random plate of onigiri and other items, which I ate for breakfast. Onigiri, red beans, tamago (egg), squash, and other things. It was a tasty variety of things.

Another night’s dinner from the market. It was my first time seeing the pork-sushi type dish, on the left. Breaded pork, with some shredded lettuce and some sauce, wrapped in rice and seaweed. It was reallllly good though. Lol, it’s like trying to counter the fried pork with the rice and seaweed. Regular plate of sushi on the right, with tuna, eel, shrimp, roe, tamago, squid. All this for under $10? I wish I could find someplace like that here in the States.

Outer market of Tsukiji. I didn’t know what half these foods were, but I asked the lady what she recommended and she told me to try the fried onion. It was good though, but lol, it couldn’t overcome the sushi I had that morning, straight from the market.

A lazy, quick, yet yummy dinner. Melon bread, and mochi. After a long day walking around Osaka, we decided to try out some sweets.

Okonomiyaki, at Osaka; my friends recommended I tried it here. It’s like a pancake, but with meat, veggies, or whatever else you may want on it, topped with fish flakes, okonomiyaki sauce, and mayo. It was goooood.
Lol, I think all the food I ate there was good.
